From June 30 - July 22, 2007, Canada will host the World's finest youth soccer players. The biennial event is second only to the FIFA World Cup in size and scope and will showcase the most talented under-20 soccer players in the world. Burnaby will host seven matches (four match days) at Swangard Stadium, including six preliminary round matches, and one round of 16 match. Swangard Stadium will be expanded to seat over 10,000 fans for this event.

Burnaby and British Columbia's Lower Mainland is proud to host of the 13th World Police and Fire Games, July 31- August 9, 2009. These biennial Games are open to active or retired members of the public safety community; police officers, fire fighters, corrections officers and customs officials. An expected 14,000 athletes will compete in over 65 sports during the ten days of competition. We also look forward to welcoming over 20,000 companions and supporters of the Games to British Columbia.
