Shadbolt Centre Kicks Off New Season

Hermit, Live at the 'Bolt, Sept 25September 25, 5:30pm-8:30pm, Live at the ‘Bolt – Help the Shadbolt Centre kick off an exciting new season of programs and performances.  Whether you're a Shadbolt regular or just curious about the Centre, they’re opening their doors to host a free evening event where everyone is welcome.  Experience their beautiful environment, enjoy some great live music, and share in a few other treats to create a fun, casual evening out with friends.
The Shadbolt’s inaugural Live at the 'Bolt features music by The Hermit, as well as dance performances and on-site visual art creation – plus delicious goodies from the Encores Café.  Bring your friends to this exciting evening and help celebrate the opening of the new season.

October 3, Orquesta Goma Dura – The rhythm Orquesta Gorma, October 3, Shadbolt Centre for the Artswill definitely get you with this 20-piece, high energy Salsa/Latin-Jazz orchestra featuring some of the finest Latin-Jazz and Salsa musicians in Vancouver. With two talented vocalists, 12 musicians on horns and six on rhythm, this is the largest Latin orchestra in Vancouver. 

Orquesta Goma Dura has performed with the celebrated Arturo Sandoval at the Orpheum as part of MusicFest, at the celebration of the handover of the Olympic flag to Vancouver, at the Roundhouse for The World Music Festival, and as part of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

The Thing About Men, Shadbolt Centre for the ArtsOctober 28-29, The Thing About Men – A light-hearted romp about love and romance.  The thing about Tom is that he loves his wife, Lucy, even though he's having a fling with his secretary.  The thing about Lucy is that she's fallen in love with Sebastian.  Toss in some unlikely roommates and a gorilla mask… and this saucy musical-comedy tells an over-the-top tale of how far we'll go to win back the ones we love. From the creators of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change comes another comical look at modern relationships.

November 12-14,  Hello, I Must Be Going - Equal parts humour and pathos, Hello, I Must Be Going tells the true story of Jewish Lithuanian women struggling to protect their families from invading armies: Russian, Soviet, Nazi, and Soviet again.  Those who flee to the US face World War II and Vietnam, while another lands in the tumult of Israel.  Hello, I Must Be Going celebrates women’s resistance to war through the stories that don't make the headlines – stories of courage, sacrifice, and love.
