Visit the Burnaby Heights on Saturday, June 6th for Hats Off Day – a daylong celebration featuring a colourful "main-street style" parade with real local flavour.
Hats Off Day takes place on the first Saturday of every June, during which Heights merchants “take their hats off” to their community and their customers in this one-day extravaganza – which also includes a big street party with treats, giveaways, draws, prizes and special promotions.
New to this year’s event is Il Girolino di Burnaby, a “Dash and Pedal” race for kids five to 12 years old. The race will be held on Hastings Street between Willingdon and Beta Avenues from noon to 2:00pm.
Due to popular demand, the Hats Off Day Show & Shine classic and custom car show is back again. This year, the cars will join the parade and be on display in a new location – on Hastings Street between Ingleton and Esmond Avenues.
As one of the city’s most popular events, Hats Off Day has been voted as “Burnaby’s Best Festival” by readers of the Burnaby Now newspaper for the past five years
