Experience traditional European culture, cuisine, music, entertainment and much more in the heart of Burnaby at the European Festival on Saturday, May 30th.
This daylong festival kicks off 15 hours of family fun with the European Festival Wind Ensemble at 10:00am, followed by the official opening ceremony and colourful flag processional at 10:30am.
The European Festival promises to be fun for the whole family with non-stop entertainment throughout the day with stage performances that include costumed folk dancers, singers and musicians.
More than 30 countries are represented at this lively event that celebrates the diverse tapestry of European cultures and traditions. Experience and enjoy dozens of interesting and educational cultural displays, shop in the colourful marketplace, and tantalize your taste buds with delicious culinary fare from across Europe.
Or, simply relax with a tasty brew in the Beer Garden before dancing up a storm into the early morning hours to some live music by The Tom Cats (Vancouver's retro/rock dance band) at the Evening Dance finale.
In addition to the festive dancing and singing, children will enjoy jumping around in the bouncing castle – as well as the various arts and crafts activities and face paining in the Children’s Tent.
The 12th Annual European Festival will be held at the Scandinavian Centre. For more information, visit Eurofest BC or phone 866-749-9208.
