Pacific Spirit Quilters’ Guild
Established in Burnaby in 1991, this group promotes the enjoyment of quilting and provides education to those interested in this heritage craft. Their community service includes making wheel chair quilts, kids’ quilts for the Shriners’ Cruiser Bus program, and incubator quilts for babies in hospital. They also give regular demonstrations and programs at the Burnaby Village Museum.
Gone Hooking
Rug hooking is a passion for this Maple Ridge group. Started in 2004 and quickly growing in numbers to about 30, this group meets regularly to host classes and provide support for fellow rug hookers. They have two shows coming up – one in ACT, the Maple Ridge Gallery, this September and the other in the Deep Cove Gallery in spring 2011.
The Burnaby Village Museum is open from May 1st through September 6th, Tuesdays through Sundays (including statutory holidays). Hours are 11:00am to 4:30pm.
