A Seasonal Celebration at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts

Celebrate the best of the season at the Shadbolt Centre during their 13th annual Seasonal Celebration.

From 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Thursday, December 4th, the Shadbolt Centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland with activities and events for the whole family.

Along with choral and instrumental music performances, this year’s Seasonal Celebration features a variety of dance performances, roving entertainment – including jugglers, Frosty the Snowman, Cynthia Poinsettia Fairy and more – as well as hands-on family activities.

Use your imagination and create a wooden Swedish elf, a chocolate lollipop or a beautiful customized wreath (feel free to bring your own special decorations to personalize your wreath).  Or take a seat and let the face painters transform your look, or express yourself with an airbrush tattoo.  Other fun activities include printmaking and heritage crafts presented by the Burnaby Village Museum.

“Shadbolt’s Seasonal Celebration offers a wonderful opportunity to get involved in a variety of fun and creative activities with your family,” says Julie-Anne Slade, Special Events Officer at the Shadbolt Centre.  “Families and people of all ages will especially enjoy the interactive performances by Bobs and Lolo, and Fabulous Fables and Masked Mayhem.”

Join in the musical adventures of Bobs and Lolo, as this dynamic duo are sure to get you dancing and singing along with a fun mix of songs from their award-winning albums and favourite holiday hits.

At this year’s Seasonal Celebration, Fabulous Fables and Masked Mayhem will present “The One-Eyed Troll” and “The Selkie” – two traditional folk tales that are sure to delight and engage audiences of all ages.

Admission is free to this one-day event.  For more information on the Seasonal Celebration, visit www.shadboltcentre.com or call the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at 604-291-6864.

Please note that the Burnaby Christmas Bureau is welcoming unwrapped children’s toys at this event; feel free to drop off your donations at the Shadbolt office.
