Choreographed by Argentinian Artist Gustavo Collini-Sartor, Metamorphosis Butoh explores the spirit of death and rebirth, a recurring theme in the Japanese aesthetic of Butoh. Inspired by the work of Kazuo Ohno, co-founder of Butoh, this dance stems from the premise that transformation is essential to the continuum of life and personal growth. With its strong visuals and colorful imagery, a trademark of pataSola dance, Metamorphosis Butoh metaphorically uses the transformation of the caterpillar to reflect on one’s life journey.
