Get Some Soul at the extended Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival

Marking its tenth anniversary, the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival has expanded to a multi-day event. On Friday August 7 and Saturday August 8, venues throughout the city will be providing patrons with blues and roots performances. See the likes of LesIsMore and Taylor James in the weekend leading up to the all day festival on August 9th.

Enjoy some of the most celebrated blues and roots musicians from across North America and around the world at the 10th Annual Blues + Roots Festival. August 9, 2009
This year’s event is held on Sunday, August 9th, and features the legendary Smokey Robinson.  The impressive 2009 line-up also includes other renowned musicians, including Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Keb Mo, Raul Malo and Tinsley Ellis.
Produced by the City of Burnaby, this popular festival celebrates the best of this musical genre with soulful performances on two stages. 
Held in picturesque Deer Lake Park, the event gates open at 12:30 with on-going performances from 1:30pm to 10:00pm.  For young music lovers, this family-friendly event also features a variety of hands-on children’s activities.
